Another Ayam Kampung at Restoran Bandariya, Jalan Tun HS Lee, Kuala Lumpur

Ayam Kampung oh Ayam Kampung. I think this is my 3rd article about Ayam Kampung place in my blog. The first one was at Ayam Kampung Publika, then Restoran Ayam Kampung Istana and this time is Restoran Ayam Kampung Bandariya. Out from this 3 places, I still considered that Ayam Kampung Publika is on the first place in terms of environment, friendliness, service and food taste.

This Restorant Ayam Kampung Bandariya is located at Jalan Tun HS Lee in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre. The restaurant is fully air-conditioned with 2 floor fo dining area. My manager recommended me this place and I can see that this is one of the lunchie spot for the bankers and other office workers nearby.

Since I arrived here a bit late, I just get my fried Ayam Kampung and also Javanese sambal on the side. Note: Javanese sambal is consisted of blended dry chili, tamarind, lots of groundnut, anchovies and tempe. Since I do have my own benchmark for Ayam Kampung meal, this Ayam Kampung was a bit failed for me. I like it a bit dry and crispy, a bit salty with some extra turmeric. But the one that I have here is a bit oily and taste a bit bland. More salt please. Then, the Javanese sambal is a bit salty for my taste bud.

Some bloggers said that this Ayam Kampung Bandariya is a bit expensive compare to other place. But it is okay. They just open at lunch time and I assumed that their rental is quiet high too due to the location.

Will I come again to this Ayam Kampung Bandariya? My honest answer is no. I love to try out other places instead. Cheers.

Restoran Ayam Kampung Istana, Kota Damansara

Me and my manager do have same ambition to open a Ayam Kampung (Village Chicken) restaurant. But start from now, we always take advantage from our lunch time to try out Ayam Kampung restaurant in town and figuring out their good and bad part. Well, this is some kind of our case study before we design our future Ayam Kampung Restaurant.

This Restoran Ayam Kampung Istana is located at Kota Damansara (I have to double check the name later). It is located at the Strand Mall area or in another word, behind a CIMB Bank Kota Damansara.

We always will put Che Mat Restaurant Ayam Kampung (Ayam Kampung Publika) in Damansara Perdana as the best benchmark whenever we try out a new place. To compare this place with Che Mat's, I can say the interior and varieties of food is an upgrading version of Che Mat. But, in terms of food quality, taste and environment, we still prefer to go to Che Mat (After our first lunch here).

I won't say much about this place. But honestly, this restaurant is just okay for me. I won't say it is not good, but it is not better than good tho. Here are some photos that I snapped from the restaurant for you all to see. Last but not least, we spent about RM35 for 2 person lunch here. How about yours?

Open Air Dinner Place at Jalan Helang 1, Puchong Jaya

My housemate Christopher missed place his medical certificates for medical leave submission to his company and we went to the clinic again to get a copy of that. Then, we discovered that there is a open space stall area located just at the opposite site of the clinic which is located at Jalan Helang 1, nearby Apartment Sri Tanjung, Puchong Jaya.

This place maybe not as crowded and as big as the one that we always went to at behind the Court Mammoth Puchong Jaya, but the foods never disappoint us. Since, Christopher is still in the midst of recovering and cannot eat spicy food, we ordered 2 serving of Fish Porridge and also a serving of non spicy Fried Char Kuey Teow.

I love the big portion of the Fish Porridge and the taste is not bad actually. There are chunk of fish meat inside and the rice porridge was very smooth. This is truly a simple meal and yet very tasty. The same with the Char Kuey Teow. Very tasty, not oily and rich with flavours. I think, if we ask it a bit spicy maybe can be even better.

If you guy come to this place and maybe you tummy is craving for something else, maybe you can order something else from other stalls such as satay, fried rice or tom yam noodle.

Will I come back to this place? The answer is definitely yes.

Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant, Jalan Besar, Singapore

The receipt from having supper at this Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant was dated on 9th November 2014. In another word, i had kept this for quiet sometimes to share about this Dim Sum place in Singapore.

When my mate, Christopher arrive to Singapore from KL a bit late from schedule, I decided to go to this restaurant to try out their Dim Sum. This restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday and close on Tuesday night. The best part is, its open from 6.00pm daily and close at 6.00am (what on earth!)

I wish I could list out every names of the Dim Sum that we had ordered, but unfortunately it was written in Chinese on the bill. So, herewith I attached the bill and all the photos of the Dim Sum.

One interesting question, will we come again to Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant, we are sorry because our answer will be no. I think some of the Dim Sum do have to much flour instead of the filling and not every Dim Sum have a matching taste with my taste bud.

However, the restaurant system is good. Customers need to take number when arrive here and will be called accordingly besides been sent with SMS notification and a phone call once you turn come.

In future, I will share with you about other spot that you can have supper in Singapore again.

Thai Dinner at Chiang Rai Style Restaurant, Puchong Jaya

Hello everyone. Here is another 'Makan' place sharing from me and my housemate Christopher. Actually, before we went to this place, we were having our dinner at a new restaurant nearby IOI Boulevard Puchong but a bit disappointed with the portion size and the price too. I will share about that sometimes later in my other blog posting.

So, this place is located in Puchong Jaya, which some of our readers know that we are living here too. So, when walking home, we decided to fill some space in our stomach by trying out this Thai restaurant called, Chiang Rai Style Restaurant. The restaurant is located at No.12-1A Jalan Kenari 18A, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47100 Puchong, Selangor.

A very simple restaurant with some typical Thai interior and some Chinese decor too. Without hesitating, we ordered Phad Thai Kuey Teow, Spicy Minced Meat with Egg and Thai Herbs, Pandan Chicken, 2 steamed rice and 2 Herbal Tea.

Spicy Minced Meat with Thai Herbs

Since I used to work with Thai restaurant when living in Vietnam, the authenticity of the food is very important for me. We started our course with rice and Spicy Minced meat which is really delicious. I can taste the the fish sauce, Thai herbs which is really remind me of my last work place.

Pandan Chicken RM6.00

Total Check was RM30.00

The Pandan Chicken maybe just okay. I love it more if it was perfectly cook because I don't really like my chicken too juicy (like KFC). Hopefully it can be improved further. How about the Phad Thai Kuey Teow, lovely. I love it actually and if it is a bit spicy is even better. I think this is Chiang Rai style as per restaurant name because normally when I have Phad Thai in Bangkok, they will always serve it with grounded peanut and some sprinkle of sugar on top. But anyway, it is still taste good.

Phad Thai RM10.00

Last but not least is the herbal tea. Its is lovely too. It come taste of palm sugar and strong aroma of Pandan leave. I think, this is something that actually I can do at home too.

Will we come again to this Chiang Rai Style Restaurant? Absolutely yes! There are a huge selection of foods on the menu, steam fish, fish cakes and many more which is really tempting for my taste bud. When I come here again, I will definitely share about this to my fellow readers.

A Lovely Korean Lunch at Gangnam Station, Laman Seri Shah Alam.

Hi everyone. I am still here. Just lately so busy with my new business, Danial & Chris Home Decor, a unique company selling an affordable window curtains. But for this article, I don't want to talk about my business, but more like to post all pending articles about places that i went since last September (I guess).

This time, I would like to share about a Korean restaurant located in Laman Seri, Shah Alam. The place is is along the Persiaran Sukan or just a distance from the gigantic Shah Alam Stadium. Yeah1 It is Gangnam Station Korean restaurant.

I was introduced by my manager, Faizal about this restaurant. Our office is in Taman Tun and for me Shah Alam is quiet a distance from our office. But since it is the birthday of Sultan Selangor and a Public Holiday for Selangorian, we do have a easy ride to this restaurant.

Well, lets refer to food menu. The restaurant is specialize in bulgogi (as what I remember). But for that time, we are not looking for Bulgogi, but instead hungry for the lunch set which is for us very affordable (around RM13.90 per set if I am not wrong). But too bad, there were no set on that Public Holiday and were opt to ala carte menu which is not so bad.

Nakji Bokkeium

So, we ordered item No. 7 (Sundubu jjigae) and item No. 13 (nakji bokkeum) besides 2 steamed rice. Another name for Sundubu Jjigae is Korean Hot and Spicy stew. It is consisted of Dubu (Tofu), seafoods such as mussels, shrimp and clams which very common, mushroom, vegetable, scallion and gochujang or gochu garu (chili powder) in Korean cuisine. This Sundubu Jjigae is very nice to enjoy with a bowl of hot steamed rice and several kind of Bachan (side dishes).

Sundubu Jiggae

As for Nakji Bokkeum, it is a stir fried food with combine of chopped squid. onion, green onion, cabbage and carrot. The they the mixed the squid with gochujang, salt and pepper, soy sauce and garlic. The Nakji Bokkeum is spicy and normally people will have it with a bowl of shellfish soup to reduce the hot sensationess.

Overall, this is really nice. I have to stand up and say that the Kimchi here is the bestest. It was juicy and full of flavour besides the generous amount of serving. Will I come again to this restaurant, the answer is definitely yes! yes! yes!

Overall, we spent RM58.30 for everything and this is really a good price too. Great to share that this restaurant is halal for our Muslim friends.
