Ho Chiak Melaka: 中华茶室 Chung Wah Chicken Rice at Jonker Street

We used to queue and give up, then we queue again, and give up again for few times. Then, only on this recent visit, we got the chance and patient to queue again and finally we got our table at this Chung Wah Restaurant.

All these while, we were wondering about what so special about this restaurant. People were queuing in the middle of afternoon, and sometimes during the drizzly day. We went here very ealy around 9.00am for breakfast and yes, lots of people already there waiting to be seated. The restaurant is rather very small with capacity about 50 to 60 pax at one time.

The only dish at this restaurant is Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball and during our visit, they only drink that available was Barley, hot or cold. There was a standard ordering system here, which is mean, if it is only two person, you need to order half chicken with 5 rice ball for each person.

Without waiting for so long, the whole dishes were served on the table. A good portion of chicken, rice ball with soy sauce and chili on the side. Really a simple dish and as for myself, but its all taste good. The chicken is so tender, you can add some soy sauce to add more flavours and at some chillis if you love it spicy.

Overall, the whole dish with 2 glasses of Barley ice cost us RM26.40 or averagely RM13.20 per person. Still very reasonable for a nice Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball dishes.
